Proportions:  Examples and Practice

Complete each item in order.

 

1)    Click on these words for a calculator.  Once it pops up, minimize it on your screen so you can use it whenever you need it to solve a problem.

 

2)   Make sure your headphones are plugged into your computer tower and put on the headphones.  Have pencil and paper ready to work out practice problems. 

 

3)     Play the following Brainpop movie first, then complete the quiz to practice what you have learned.  Brainpop: Using Proportions.

 

4)   Put the headphones back on the tower.  Open your math binder to a new ‘notes’ page.  Give your notes the title ‘3.6 Writing and Solving Proportions’

 

5)   Watch the following powerpoint and copy each example and steps (there are 3 examples) into your notes.  Complete each of the guided practice problems in your note section, make sure you can get the correct answer.  (Raise your hand if you need help!)  Proportion Powerpoint.

 

6)   Go to the following website and complete the self-quiz on a new sheet of notebook paper that you will turn in (show all steps to solve each problem!) Choose chapter 3, section 6 and click 'check answers' when you finish to see if you got them correct!  Proportion Self-Quiz

 

7)   If you finish early, play the following game.  Have paper and pencil ready to solve problems.  Chapter 3 Acrobat Game
